Funny things happen every day. Sometimes it’s just a chuckle funny and other times it’s a forever crazy moment.
Today, I was sitting in the turn lane at a stop light waiting to motor my way to the nearest Starbucks. A gray Honda civic, that had seen better days, made a left hand turn into my oncoming traffic lane. Cars were coming at a fast pace and the driver immediately discovered his wrong way mistake. He moved into the turn lane for safety. Luckily, my car was not pulled up through the crosswalk like the two cars that pulled up beside me honking their horns. The driver had plenty of room to get out of harm’s way.
As we sat eyeball to eyeball, I wondered how he was going to deal with the situation. I could tell the woman in the passenger seat was very upset about their predicament because she was flailing her arms, pointing at me and shouting. The white caddy two lanes over rolled down her window, and if you are a fan of Janet Evanonvich’s Plum novels you will understand when I say Lula appeared. She stuck her large arm out the window and began cursing at the poor man. Now he’s getting arms flapping and chastising in stereo. The stop light turned green and Lula floored it, giving the man a nice hand signal and screaming something about being killed. I checked my rear-view mirror for traffic. The coast was clear so I pointed for the driver to flip a U turn. He gave me a thumbs up and his passenger pretended to strangle herself as they drove away.
Today was definitely a double mocha with a shot of espresso.
Forever Crazy,
