Hi Y’all!
I traveled coast to coast last week. My wonderful mom plays fairy grandmother and grants each of her grandchildren a magical trip to the U.S. destination of their dreams. My oldest went to Charleston, Virginia, my middle went to Boothbay, Maine and now it was my youngest’s turn. When she was little, she wanted to go to the Jersey shore, but luckily as she grew older, her destination changed to Los Angeles to visit the sound stage where Friends was filmed. She was chosen to act out a scene from Friends. Then we had brunch at Chateau Marmont and plowed patiently through the traffic to visit Venice Beach.
After we Bippity Boppity Booed through LA, I caught a plane to Orlando, Florida for the Romance Writers of America’s annual convention. RWA2017 didn’t disappoint. I filled my well with creative juice and caught up with some friends from past conferences.
Child 1 and 3 flew into Orlando to conquer Disney and Universal. We had more magical times riding the thrilling rides and discovering Harry Potter World.
All the walking required to tour two theme parks in three days took its toll as we finished our fun adventure at the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium. It’s a Steampunk-influenced restaurant with the most awesome milkshakes I’ve ever tasted.
Saying goodbye to RWA2017 and Mickey Mouse, we boarded the Pink Indiana Jones plane for Orange Beach. We met up with child 2 and the Scot for a much-needed vacation from the vacation.
Now, I’m at my happy place and working on a prequel novel to the Jennifer Cloud series. I’m resting up for the ride home which includes a pit stop in NOLA to celebrate the birth of child 2.
